What the day looked like
Families came for free toys, with kids shopping alongside a volunteer Elf, plus holiday meals and bounce houses. Peoria Police and Fire were on site meeting families, and Peoria Mayor Jason Beck was among those who donated to the event (Arizona Progress Gazette).
The need was real. Amkor Technology, whose employees volunteered that day, posted that guests started lining up as early as 2 a.m.
In Brian’s words
Why we do it
“This is life-altering. … It’s about bringing hope to families that might not otherwise have some hope for the holidays.”
“Our sponsors are community-based, so it’s people who donate from the community to the community, for the community.”
“Seeing the kids light up with smiles, shopping for toys with an Elf, jumping in bounce houses, and feeling celebrated—that’s what drives us all year long.”
